Events - Independence Day

August 2016

With a vibrant display of patriotic zeal the students assembled in the quadrangle in the wee hours of the morning of 15 August 2016 to bear witness to yet another celebration of achieving 70 years of glorious independence. With the entire school being decked up with tricolour festoons, banners, flags and confettis, everyone was enthused for the momentous occasion. The event flagged off with the special assembly being conducted by the student council, followed by the unfurling of the National Pennon. Principal Mam, Dr Suchitra Bhattacharya emphasised on the roles of youth in realizing the dreams of great leaders. The assembly concluded with the chanting of Vande Mataram which was followed by the National Anthem.

The jingoistic fervour was vibrantly kept alive through a fiesta of cultural activities conducted throughout the day, which included the soulful rendition of patriotic songs by the school choir, scintillating dance performances, a couple of powerful recitation of patriotic Hindi and English poems and ballads & an inter school patriotic solo song competition, that kept the nationalistic spirit pulsatingly alive.
